The Reverend Mathew Baker
Father Matt worked for the Episcopal Diocese of Albany for more than 25 years. He began as the Director of Beaver Cross, the Diocesan Camp & Conference Center in Cooperstown NY. During that time, he was also appointed the first ever Youth Ministry Director for the Diocese. In 2002, Bishop Herzog charged him with leading the team to consolidate Beaver Cross and several other Diocesan facilities into one Spiritual Life Center in Greenwich NY.
After a decade plus as the Canon Director of Christ the King Spiritual Life Center, our Lord called Father Matt to the priesthood in 2013 and soon after called him as the Rector of Saint Luke's in nearby Cambridge. The same Lord then led him to serve in the Diocese of the Living Word where he is both excited and humbled to be the founding Rector of Holy Redeemer Anglican Church.
Although Father Matt loves a good theological debate, his passion lies in the everyday people of God; of caring for Christ's people, teaching in ways people of all abilities and experience can understand, and helping folks discover the many ways God is working in and through their lives.
